... Three photos of city police Chief Robert Hickman show him wearing what appears to a be a vest emblazoned with the Confederate Flag.

Hickman failed to return a message from the Register seeking comment about his wardrobe ...

"There are likely very few Americans who don't understand that symbol," said Jim Jackson, president of the Sandusky chapter of the NAACP. "You can't be ignorant because every individual in America understands what that flag means."

If nothing else, Hickman's choice of attire is simply flatout "inappropriate," Jackson said ...

If all of the racists, the religious fanatics, and the homophobes magically

disappeared from the entire globe, maybe, just maybe we could
