The man cannot complete a sentence. He cannot finish a complete thought. He changes direction in the middle of his own argument without having been interrupted. According to Trump, you have to be really, really smart to get into the Wharton School of Business. I don't think Trump is very, very smart. I want to see his transcripts. I want to see what kind of grades he got.

(12,151 posts)Respectfully to real estate moguls of the world, Trump had a successful business handed to him, and managed to keep it going and make money. And lose that money. And make it back. And so forth.
Making a lot of money does not make someone a genius. Doesn't mean a person has a lot of wisdom about the world.
Republicans do not seem to see it this way. They see education as valid only to the extent it prepares people to make money. They see wealth as a sign of legitimacy, and the basis for entitlement to leadership and influence.
They also like forceful personalities and belligerence.
Trump's got all those bases covered.
When he starts having to answer questions that require any kind of knowledge or understanding about the larger world, he's going to have problems.

(3,015 posts)Or whatever cable/steaming service he uses to get his 'shows' that he uses for military advice.
In all honesty, if he's looking for a show to watch I'd recommend Reading Rainbow. Might inspire him to pick up a book or two.

(12,151 posts)He seems to be succeeding by acting like one. No surprise if he's taking his "ideas" from entertainment as well.

(9,999 posts)Just witness his campaign and the way he insults his opponents. Juvenile, ego-centric remarks against his opponents rather than an honest discussion of the issues. This man is used to bullying his way towards his goals and will happily take down his own party to get what he wants. Thankfully, he is not on our team.

(12,151 posts)Their base bought it, and now Trump is showing them just how much of a clueless loudmouth you can be to qualify.

(7,745 posts)A coherent thought would scare and infuriate Trump level morons. All they want is "Murica fuck yeah" level discourse. He knows this and he does it intentionally.

(5,252 posts)"Among other things, Trump has allowed the media to report for years that he graduated first in his class at Wharton, despite strong evidence that this is not true and indications that he was, in fact, an undistinguished student...
Trump did not go to Whartons prestigious MBA program. Rather, he received an undergraduate degree offered by Wharton to University of Pennsylvania students. And Trump didnt attend Wharton for a full four years. Instead, he transferred there after spending his first two undergraduate years at Fordham, the Jesuit university in the Bronx."

This is old news, and yet, the media lets him get away with it unchallenged.

(961 posts)Check my profile in the "Welcome" section when I first signed up. I got a full ride. There's no one else on this site of whom I am aware who attended Wharton. And yes, Trump went there.
And also, yes, you have to be really, really smart to attend, much less obtain a degree. I went on and obtained my MBA there. You know what a Harvard student and a Wharton student have in common? We both were accepted into Harvard.

And Jeff Skilling had an MBA from Harvard Business School.

(24,780 posts)Never saw that transcript.
Although he doesn't have the common sense with his mouth that God gave a snail, I believe he went to Wharton before I believe W completed the requirements for a Harvard MBA.

(14,449 posts)The GOP said that president Obama didn't go to school either. Went so far as talk to students who were there at the time and nobody knew him. Must we really follow GOP tactics?

(24,780 posts)Obama was a con law teacher at Harvard Law School. We also know from Karl Rove said W had to do community service in Houston for cocaine possession. And we know W was AWOL on the Guard. So which is more credible? Obama and or Bush?
