Alabama takes voter suppression even further

From a news item late yesterday - the state of Alabama will close 45 DMV offices by March 2016. There will be four (4) DMV offices remaining in the whole state.

They passed a voter ID law, and now they're going to make it harder to obtain an ID.

This is getting really ridiculous. Anyone who denies this is voter suppression pretty much needs to b put to sleep.

You can register by mail. I didn't when I registered but would have if I had known this. Much better then waiting in an office.

4. But that still wouldn't solve the problem of needing a government issued ID.

Of course, it's total crap that we need to show an ID to vote in the first place.

Since approximately 1985, in order for a child to be claimed on federal income taxes, a social security number had to be obtained.

And, the card is specifically not intended to be used for ID. Older SS cards used to say that. Mine does.

the county's board of registrars office and get a free ID for voting. They'll just go without.

Of course, all of the republicans here who voted for these idiots who can't get our budget right are now complaining because of this. There's no reasoning with them. My family included.
