Disagreement over how Arpaio's civil rights case should end

PHOENIX — The U.S. Justice Department and Sheriff Joe Arpaio can't agree over how an already settled civil rights lawsuit filed by the federal agency should end.

The Justice Department wants U.S. District Judge Roslyn Silver to keep the case open but inactive until Arpaio's office has been declared to be in full compliance for three years in a separate racial profiling case.

Arpaio's lawyers say the Justice Department's case should be dismissed.

In July, both sides settled allegations that Arpaio's office retaliated against its critics, discriminated against Latinos during workplace raids and punished Latino jail inmates with limited English skills for speaking Spanish ...

Pink underwear, tents without air conditioning in the Arizona heat and green bologna for mealtimes, included. I wouldn't make him do it for too long because that would be torture. Maybe, just long enough for him to admit it is torture.
