Former President George H.W. Bush on Sunday pleaded with voters to contribute to Jeb Bushs campaign, as his son continues to slide further down the ranks in a crowded GOP presidential field dominated by Donald Trump.
H.W. Bush gets to the point at the top of his email: I need your help.
Mirroring an email sent by former President George W. Bush earlier this month, H.W. Bush asks for a contribution of at least $25 to help Jeb reach his $200,000 goal by midnight tomorrow. H.W. throws his support behind his son more like a father, rather than a former president.
I love my son, and I know hell make a great President because of his record in Florida and commitment to this country, but he needs your help now, H.W. Bush writes of Jeb, who at one point was presumed to be the front-runner among Republican candidates.

Can it be you can't fool me once shame on won't get fooled again?
Or is that that the Bush strain can't win an election honestly, with or without pork rinds?

(16,254 posts)Pretty damned pathetic in my book to go around begging when they are sitting on millions. Of course, Babs can't hardly ask for help because she didn't want another Bush in the WH.

Wouldn't that be something?

(12,712 posts)is broke? What? They can't finance the campaign of their own mutated spawn? Their allies can't chip in to give the Jeb a ride into another taking of the White House?
Or is the Godfather of this gang just making some noise? Maybe it is not about the money, but generating sympathy in order to try to make it seem grass roots and mimic Bernie's REALITY campaign?
Odd, that lot.

(2,510 posts)Everybody says "I need your help".
Jeb raised $100 million for his PAC. They don't really need that much help, but you gotta motivate folks to send a few more bucks to his candidate campaign committee...

(14,449 posts)Please don't tell me that is your qualifier for president. Every candidate has over 500 thousand dollars and above in personal wealth.

(82,849 posts)You're in a spot of trouble, are you? I think the Bible can guide our thinking on this one. When we were hungry and homeless, sick and imprisoned, what did we get from the Bush family? When New Orleans was drowned, what did the Bush family do? Did they even offer a word of comfort? Or was our desperate situation the basis for mockery: This is working out quite well for the displaced and dispossessed. When thousands were sent off at your other son's behest to kill and die for the greater glory of Halliburton's bottom line, did that same son honor the sacrifice of so many or did he make a joke of it for his wealthy pals: Nope, no WMDs behind this curtain, yuk, yuk, yuk.
So President Bush, in the compassionate words of your own son, "Now watch this drive." I can't say "fuck you" with enough force or volume to really get the message across in the way that's most appropriate. Sit in your well-appointed home and eat the dollar bills your family has amassed over the last 75 years off the blood and bones of millions. Look into the haunted eyes of the Guantanamo inmates, and mull over your family's role in putting them there without charge or counsel. Get in your little motorized scooter and trundle along the dirt paths of Europe with the Middle East refugees fleeing the carnage your family has brought to their countries. Give Michael Schiavo a call and ask him how he's doing today.
Then think a little bit about your son's record in Florida, your other son's record as president, your own legacy from your days in the White House, and the millions killed, dispossessed, or incarcerated all so that you can live out your days in unwarranted comfort. I'm not much of one for a grudge, but you've got a lot of brass asking anyone else for assistance for your family's latest foray into politics.

He screams to us consistently by all his efforts, "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than have to have a frontal lobotomy."
Buddy, you got both. Go choke on a pretzel, then go to jail, you criminal fuck.
