Sterling Heights (Detroit area) residents speak out against mosque

http://www.mlive.com/news/detroit/index.ssf/2015/08/muslim_fear_grows_in_sterling.html

STERLING HEIGHTS, MI -- While some Sterling Heights residents are presenting typical development complaints, that a proposed mosque would decrease property values and increase traffic, other arguments have been described as hateful and bigoted.

(snip)

The Sterling Heights Planning Commission, a body of City Council appointees, in September will determine if a 25,000-square-foot mosque can be built in a currently residential area on 15 Mile near Ryan. Although planners said there are currently a smidgen over 100 members, it would be built to accommodate over 300.

(snip)

What they should do is probably have Homeland Security check these people out, just in case. You don't know what's going on. You know, they're cutting people's heads off, they killed our soldiers and everything.

" ... They scare me, they scare everybody."
