(24,760 posts)They REALLY like him! Who knew? I thought all Alaskans hated him. Talk about a silent majority! Must be very gratifying for him.
Great man. Even if I don't agree with all his choices. I certainly agree with most and I completely trust his integrity, compassion, and genuineness.
I also appreciate how he is highighting and respecting the needs of indigenous Alaskans. I hope it is providing some measure of healing.

DC to Kotzebue = 3668.433
DC to Honolulu = 4834.203
Does not look that way on a flat map, but on a globe it is apparent.

(46,436 posts)kicked Sean Parnell to the curb, and elected Democrat Ethan Berkowitz as Anchorage's mayor, the whole political climate up here has seemed to change. Sure, there was some grumbling in newspaper and FB comments about the president and his visit, but by far most comments were positive. I would not be surprised if some of our more right-wing legislators are told to take a hike next year, which would thrill me greatly.
While declining oil prices are causing the state to take a big economic hit, it may be just the incentive we need to get Big Oil's influence out of our state government. Nothing would make me happier.
