One notable causality to emerge from these moves is current 9-11 a.m. anchor José Díaz-Balart. With Morning Joe going to 10 a.m., Tamron Hall will then take over the 10-12 noon slot, thereby leaving Mr. Díaz-Balart as the odd man out.
For the rest of the afternoon, Andrea Mitchell will stay in the 12-1 p.m. position. Likewise, Thomas Roberts will remain in the 1-3 p.m. slot that he took over a few months ago as the network began its pivot from opinion to (mostly) hard news programming.
Following the aforementioned Snow in the 3-5 p.m. block will be Chuck Todd at 5 p.m., a move that was also previously reported by Mediaite in late July.
What remains to be seen is who fills the small shoes of Al Sharpton at 6 p.m. as he moves to Sunday mornings. Changes may be coming to MSNBC primetime as well, as network executives still are mulling exactly what to do at 8 p.m. with the struggling Chris Hayes. Another source indicates that Willie Geist may get his own program at that time, replacing Hayes, but that is not confirmed at this time. The Wraps Jordan Charlton had reported the same possibility earlier this summer.
Time to turn off MSNBC if folks have not already.....

(16,286 posts)IN fact, to not watch those shows would be very counterproductive.
They provide information and observations that exist nowhere else other than Democracy Now which most people dont get or see
Nope, if I even REMOTELY care about politics, I have to watch those two shows or I am just kidding myself

(34,136 posts)So that might be why they've tapped her for a show right now.
For the 2008 Presidential Race, Kate was ABC News' correspondent for the Democrats, primarily Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY), following her at events.
Snow also serves as a member of the Department of Communication's Advisory Council at Cornell University and as a member of the national board of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America.
Snow joined NBC News in 2010, as correspondent for Dateline NBC. Snow is currently a national correspondent and a fill-in anchor on Today, Weekend Today and NBC Nightly News.

But it bothers me a little that her appearance seems tailored to fit in at Fox News. If she's a good journalist, I can overlook her blondness.

(7,719 posts)..but not in the morning. Scarborough is such a right-wing hack he's beginning to sound like Limpballs. I can't stand his flagrant narcissisim. Every other word was always me or I.

(7,006 posts)When they gave Ed Schultz's the boot. This is After Cenk Uygur, Martin Bashir and of course Keith Olbermann. Nothing they can do to get back in good graces. Only show watchable now is Tamron Hall (and that's when she's on her own show).
Getting to know CNN, Al-Jazeera and Free Speech TV because of MSNBC pretty much dumping the Progressive line-up and liking what being seen, in return.

(3,148 posts)They've been beating CNN's morning show recently but just barely. They still only have half of fox's morning show viewers in the vaunted 25-54 demo.
I don't understand why MSNBC not only keeps Morning Joe but is expanding it. Rachel could easily use an extra hour for her broadcast. As she likes to present context and history for the segments they air.

(7,006 posts)CNN's Morning Show is pretty good. Been tuning in for the last year and really like the lineup of straight news with a bit of commentary in the morning before work. The hosts ask tough questions, regardless of who is answering the questions. It does sometimes get a bit repetitive but, when that happens, a quick flip to Discovery ID occurs.
Still Will not, better yet REFUSE to watch, Morning Puke -- at all.
