A conservative Alaskan's comments on the president's visit - this is nice.

I found this on Facebook and like it a lot. Thank you, Mike Byers of Fairbanks.

Politically not only do Barack Obama and I have nothing in common but we are polar opposite on many issues. But even a stopped clock is correct twice a day and I want to give him a shout out for his recent trip to my home state, where I was born and raised. You could tell he really enjoyed his trip, and with that kind of beauty around you, you can't help be over whelmed and fall in love even if you are the President of the United States. He gave The Mountain back her real name and for that I want to say... thank you. To the people from Alaska she has always been Denali "The Great One". On Tuesday we go back to our corners but for now I am happy to consider you my Alaskan Blood Brother.

President Obama made quite an impression here. I hope he comes back and brings the family after his term is over.

It takes a big man to compliment someone he ordinarily considers an opponent.

Good for you, Mike Byers of Fairbanks!

I don't know when we'll ever find the time to come back, but if we never make it, the reason will NOT be because we never intended to. This place is one massive natural wonder. No wonder Obama was blown away. So were we.

We are here one more day, then all day in the air back to Washington DC Sunday, and it'll all seem like a dream except for the photos.

What an absolutely fabulous piece of earth you live in!
