Four Hours Of 'Morning Joe' Is Waaay Too Much

The world may sometimes feel like a vast sea of greed, evil and misery, but surely the citizens of the planet have not done enough terrible things to deserve a having a fourth hour of “Morning Joe” foisted upon them.

Yet, according to Mediaite’s well-sourced Joe Concha, that is precisely what MSNBC is about to do. In the latest of what is looking like a near wholesale clear-out, Concha writes that the network is going to ditch its current 10 a.m. hour, hosted by Jose Diaz-Balart, and give viewers an extra helping of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski instead.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that the only fourth hour of a morning show that has ever worked is the fourth hour of the “Today” show. But Joe and Mika are no Hoda and Kathie Lee. The latter bring joy and delight to the world; the former lay waste to all that is good and true.

Alright, so that may be pushing it a bit. Things could be worse. MSNBC could be hiring Chris Cuomo away from CNN, for instance. But the fact remains that “Morning Joe” is the perfect representation of so much that is wrong in our media world. Most TV shows at least pretend like they’re speaking to Jane Public out there, but “Morning Joe” openly gloats about its insularity and elitism. It is explicit in its disdain for the world beyond the establishment. It treats sneering arrogance as a positive thing. It has never met a billionaire CEO it couldn’t venerate or a warmongering pundit it couldn’t toast.

I never watch, so I had no idea.

I thought Andy Lack wanted more anti-Hillary programming in the morning.

It took me a long time to realize that they were repeating the first half hour to kick off the third hour.

And they can play the full hour if they do not have any guests lined up. It's gonna be Trump-TV 24-7.

They basically harp on two or three topics du jour... Like Hilary's emails, or Trump nowadays. And they'll ask each guest what they think about Hilary's emails and Trump.

There is rumor that Willie Geist is taking over the Chris Hayes show. The only ones that have been able to hang on are Chris Mathews, Andrea Mitchell, and Joe himself...and perhaps two or three others?

As if they were on the "far left", they decided they needed to go more "conservative" in this election cycle. It seems to me they have gone even more "far right" than FOX News. They will pay Joe Scarborough, and Mika for "balance", a great sum of money to be the lead "propagandists" of the Network.

If you are perceived to be just a "little too far to the left", then MSNBC will move you out. That's the way it looks to me...

upon waking up and listen to second hour while getting ready for work. Yes as someone else stated they repeat the first half hour of the show at the beginning of the third hours. When I began watching years ago, it was informative about what would lead the day's news, or a summation of what had happened the day before. I always thought that the show had a bunch of Yes people who sucked up the Joe, and appeared grateful to just have a job, i.e. Mike Barnicle, and former congressman Harold Ford Jr. Ford and Barnacle could always be counted on to back up and give legitimacy to whatever Joe said regardless of how ridiculous. But there used to be those who could be counted on to provide a balanced perspective complete, and even disagree with Joe. But those people, like the Brit, Katy Kay, John Meacham, Steve Ratner who help lead the bailout of the auto industry after the financial collapse, John McCain's campaign director Steve Schmidt, Mika's dad Dr. Brzezinski who would regularly call Joe out on his lack of the facts. Now its Mark Halperin, with his silly smirk who twice used a derogatory comment on live air regarding the President and we are supposed to believe that he has an objective perspective.

We could always count on the out of office Dems, former to come on the show and bash the Democratic Party, and the liberal media like, Chuck Todd and Chris Matthews to point out the Dems faults and bash President Obama for not wanting to have a beer with the GOP leadership after hours like Reagan and Tipp O'Neil use to do.

Now it's all Donald Trump all the time, and Donald calls in several times a week and just goes on and on, never completing a coherent thought and Joe and Mika just let him go. He lies, skews facts on every controversial even he's been involved with, and they never call him out on his lies, while Joe and Mika spend half the show calling Hillary Clinton a liar and going over her unfavorable ratings, even though Donald Trumps unfavorable ratings are higher than hers. I've giving up on watching it. To do so would just get me worked up and that is not a healthy way for me to start the day.

I got indigestion when watching. Yes, Joe alway kept his 'amen corner' including those so-called Democrats.

Mika's dad Dr. Brzezinski who would regularly call Joe out on his lack of the facts. Now its Mark Halperin, with his silly smirk who twice used a derogatory comment on live air regarding the President and we are supposed to believe that he has an objective perspective.

Mika's dad wasn't on often enough tp draw my interest to that show, and this video was one of the highlights on morning joe..

I think Rachel Maddow was the only one that wasn't invited on morning joke, or was she? Especially after she made him look like a fool on Meet the Press.
