#GodHatesAdultery: Westboro Baptist church turns on Kim Davis for causing ‘F*g marriage’

Proving that there is no limit to fundamentalist Christian extremism, the ultra-conservative Westboro Baptist church has launched a crusade against Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis despite all parties being against same-sex marriage.

While Davis is sitting in jail on contempt charges for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, members of the extremist Westboro Baptist church in Topeka are threatening to go to Kentucky to protest against Davis for being an adulteress –due to having been married four times — and for causing “F*g marriage” because of her sinfulness.

Davis, who converted to Christianity four years ago maintains that she cannot issue licenses to gay couples on religious grounds, calling it a “Heaven or Hell decision.” Despite that, members of the Topeka church have launched a Twitter jihad on Davis saying she is a “phony divorced/remarried traitor to God,” and “#NotChristian.”

Addressing Davis, who has been married four times –twice to the same man — and reportedly had twins out of wedlock, Westboro tweeted: “‘Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me.’ -The LORD”

The Westboro group could probably care less what function their political intervention serves. I think that that group has done tremendous work on behalf of gay rights, regardless of their intentions.

at least, that's what "finding Jesus" used to mean; she's in her zealot stage of conversion. It was a big deal that Jimmy Carter was the first "born again" Christian to become President.

We sometimes refer to these type folks as "last stop people." The Bible being the last stop before...?

She dresses in accordance with biblical standards; long hair, no make up, no gold, her chest is never exposed. If she wears a low cut blouse, there's always another blouse beneath it to keep her covered. Long skirts are also required.

I have three s/b-i-l that are into that form of orthodox Xtianity; definitely last stop people.

For our and her niece's wedding she and her two daughters wore identical dresses similar to what Kim Davis wears. It wouldn't have stood out if they'd been made from different fabric but they were all the same drab colors, more funereal than anything else.

It is weird since she was brought up Unitarian. But during college she got sucked into one of the campus christian groups. When she graduated she met her husband who was a member of one of the military christian groups. He's way too controlling for my taste - for many years she was not allowed to take a phone call unless he listened in.

Fortunately once cell phones got common, she and all their kids each got one so they can at least communicate if they want. But they are all so fundy minded I can't communicate with them any more.

I don't like having much to do with that set of in laws.

these in-laws are a special breed; one's a 9/11 truther (but voted for Bush); he's also a pedophile. Another is just dumber than a bag of rocks...he and his wife are hoarders, the wife is dumb too (and prides herself on being a Republican). Another had a long chain of failed ministries but, he's found himself as a military chaplain and traveling to combat zones. This one was pro-Iraq war but wouldn't allow his son to enlist in the military because we were at war. And they don't see any contradiction between church/outside of church activities.

we rarely see the rest of them. The hoarders live two miles away. I really feel badly for them, they truly are dumb. He's studying to become a minister. Years ago he enlisted in the Navy, was stationed in Va and stayed there. He met his wife there (she looks like this town clerk...but 66 years old). They remained in Va because he was afraid he would catch the gay from his brother, me and his sister if he returned home. Apparently he knows he can't catch the gay, he lives two miles away
