Leaving an abusive home situation can be extremely difficult due to a myriad of obstacles, including financial abuse. One California moving company is aiming to help those in need by doing an awesome thing: providing free moving services. Meathead Movers, a company based in central California, has partnered with domestic abuse non-profit organization Good Shepherd to help victims escape their situations.
Meathead Movers will work directly with the nonprofit to identify the abusive situations and provide moving services at no cost, a spokesperson told LA Weekly. Not only do these services help the victims of domestic abuse but they directly impact Meathead employees consisting of predominantly young men who believe that real men dont hit women, real men help those in need.
Meathead Movers, which was founded in 1997 by student athletes, will donate their services on a monthly basis through Good Shepherd. From LA Weekly:

(26,582 posts)Also in the comments was something I'd never thought about...donating pads & tampons to women's shelters. I make regular monetary donations to the local women's shelter, but I certainly can buy extra pads & tampkns to give too.

(24,576 posts)going through shelters will be depending on food stamps which don't cover such supplies, or otc medicines, laundry detergents, etc. These are very costly items.
Feeling the Bern
(3,839 posts)psychologically abused him to the point he almost committed suicide twice. My brother is severe bi-polar, Asperger's and suffers from acute schizophrenia. Everything between them was great before the marriage, but she changed. . .up to including eventually abandoning him denying him the ability to see the children for over 14 months.
"real mean don't hit women. . ." The case is reversed in my brothers. . .why the "do you still beat your wife" ideas?

(53,410 posts)Most spousal abuse is from perfectly sane men. I don't see the similarity.
My sister is bi-polar and she really damaged her children. But in the end she's mentally ill.

(3,839 posts)Kind of distracted me. Apologies. This is about my brother. My mother is a stepford wife to a beast of a man who beat and brow-beat his two children until the oldest (me) punched him out and the youngest cut him out of the grandchildren's lives.
