One more reason to understand Republican opposing unions

and its festering roots are in racism. Of course, Republicans bad-mouth unions for a variety of reasons - but here is one I never associated with their constant attacks on organized labor: RACE.

than workers who were white (10.8 percent), Asian (10.4 percent), or Hispanic (9.2 percent)."

Rather long article on the history of blacks in the organized labor force - especially railroad porters and how they were denied entry into white unions and forced to form their own black unions:

strategy of the oligarchs. By not accepting blacks, women, Asians, Latinos and others, unions only weakened themselves, because every one of these groups is getting exploited.
