Why I think the West is crazy not to accept boatloads of Syrian refugees ASAP.

From what I've read, having endured Assads' repressive regime that stamped out religious extremism, the majority of Syrians are not overly religious. If there were a group of Muslims who would embrace secularism and all else that distinguishes the West from Islamic countries, it seems that group would be Syrians. If the West welcomes them they could have a positive influence on those Muslims who have been under the baleful influence of the many imams who are financed by the Saudis.

Furthermore, if millions of Syrians are made to linger under intolerable conditions for years on end in refugee camps they and/or their children will definitely become radicalized. Not a good thing for anyone.

Percentage of population over 65 in Europe:

"The median age in Europe will increase from 37.7 years old in 2003 to 52.3 years old by 2050 while the median age of Americans will rise to only 35.4 years old."

Currently in Germany it is 46.
