It's fallen out of use for the most part, but it's a real word.

Means strongly, with great force.

They do not take an inflection for adverbial use. Examples: "Go slow". Do not let Miss Grammar misinform you that it's "Go slowly". Also compare: "I feel bad" with "I feel badly". Notice the second one means you're losing your sense of touch.
