A debate over the Talbot Boys (MD)

... The “Talbot Boys” statue has stood on the Talbot County Courthouse green for almost a century, and is a monument that lists the names of county residents who fought for the Confederacy. On top of the monument is the figure of a young soldier carrying, and partly draped in, a Confederate flag. Union soldiers are not mentioned.

Also on the courthouse grounds is a statue of famed abolitionist, author, statesman, Talbot County native and former slave Frederick Douglass.

After a hard-fought battle, the Frederick Douglass statue was erected in 2011 ...
