The religious right has no shortage of bad comparisons for Kim Davis. On Thursday, Rick Santorum decided to throw in his two cents, and compared her to Martin Luther King, Jr., because she went to jail for her beliefs. There are a ton of problems with this comparison, which, of course, the Christian persecution complex does not allow these idiots to understand.

There’s a huge difference there, and it’s one that the religious right positively refuses to see. Santorum, like others, think they’re under horrendous persecution here. They believe the Supreme Court’s ruling on marriage equality to be an abuse of their power, judicial tyranny, and all sorts of other terrible things, because it means that they can’t continue to force others to live by their religion. It means they can’t continue their oppression of others. The horror.
