Whenever I hear anyone obsessing over Sharia law in the US, I can't help but think of Rainbowland.

....from the underrated and very funny comedy The Campaign (warning: some NSFW language towards the end of the clip):

I don't think anyone wants to live under a Taliban imposed Sharia Law civil system here in the US. I seriously doubt even American Muslims want to live under that type of environment here.

But the bottom line is that it's not going to happen, there's no movement to make it happen, no one wants to make it happen, it's a complete and utter non-story meant only to scare very gullible people.

There's no more danger of US citizens forced to live under Sharia Law than there is of us living under Roman Catholic Canon Law or Jewish Halakha Law. People such as the imbecilic, braindead mayor of Irving, Texas (who claimed that a voluntary, non-binding program of mediation of legal disputes between people in the Muslim community is proof of a sinister attempt to implement Sharia Law in the US) are perverse predators trying to scare people about something that would never, ever, ever happen here.

"I do not want to live in Rainbowland! And you can't make me live in Rainbowland! This is America!"
