She is attempting to be a "martyr" for "the cause." She is nothing but a bigot. My favorite quote from another interview is that she isn't a homophobe because she has never said bad things about gay people or done anything to them.

Doesn't matter how horrible of a person you are because you're forgiven.

And did she go on to be a better person with all that washing away of her sins?

Nope. Not a bit. Same old bigot she always was. She didn't suddenly become one when she got her sins bath.

Disgusting.

major troublemakers wherever they interact with a world teeming with people they don't like.

Strong social/religious conservatives like Kim are characterized by aggressive hostility and intolerance toward virtually ALL groups that aren't like them. Like Democrats and liberals - they're always conservatives and they always love to hate us. If they're white: Hispanics. If they're Hispanics, whites. Anyone who speaks with an "accent." Muslims, unless they're Muslims themselves. And on and on. LGBT is only one of many targets.

Almost the entire GOP base/TP is made up of Kims. We all know lots of them.

This Kim only stands out because she mistakenly thought she was taking a stand from a very strong position as ruler of her little office. Social conservatives almost always attack in packs, not alone, but apparently Kim was emboldened into thinking she could get away with acting out.

It's the combination of arrogance, bigotry, hypocrisy and stupidity that makes me just recoil at the sight of her.

Also, the fact that she has absolutely no humility and thinks she knows the "mind of God", which is just laughable.

She bore false witness when she told the judge she would comply. She still will not render unto Caesar what is Caesar's. And I bet she's still wearing a cotton/polyester blend outfit.

Her sins can stay behind, she's the one that needs to be washed away.

And "clensed" of their sins? Do they get some sort of certificate from God/Jesus certifying their newfound cleanliness and purification? To me, it just sounds like self-absolution with little or no work required on their part. Sort of like the moral equivalent of a "get out of jail free" card". I don't get it.

but he never explained what IT meant. Then in later life his wife confessed that she had never felt IT. So who knows what sign they think they get.

As to the get out of jail free card. Many take it to mean that but traditionally the washed clean idea inherent in baptism was that you would then work to follow the laws of Jesus, follow in his footsteps. And that you could backslide - that is fall away which then put you back at step one.

There was never an idea of once saved always saved. That is a relatively recent addition to religion just like prosperity gospel.

Chances are she'll be in the sack with someone else before she divorces Mr. Green Jeans (again), but she'll turn up at the church, wave her arms in the air, yell "Thank ya, Jaysus" and it's all good.

I put up with it for fourteen years before I had to walk away or die. My children were in turmoil, my emotional state was on the edge, and still I was told daily (unless we were in one of the periods when he didn't speak to me at all) that I was going to hell because I wasn't a believer.

His constant adultery wasn't a problem, though, because God had forgiven him. When I told him there wasn't a get out of sin free card, he walked away. I think we went a month that time before he deigned to speak to me.

His religion was a huge factor in our marriage being a heaping pile of shit. I told him from the beginning that I didn't believe in God, and that I wouldn't be going to church. He said fine, as long as I didn't bother him. But, it wasn't a week after I got there (I had to transfer bases) before I was being hounded about going to church.

I should have walked away then, but I was young and stupid.

He's on his third marriage, by the way. For all their humping that old testament, they sure do like to break those commandments.
