Huckabee: Obama Only 'Pretends To Be' A Christian

FUCK THIS GUY

>[IMG][/IMG]

Mike Huckabee said in an interview with Newsmax TV yesterday that President Obama only “pretends to be” a Christian, as evidenced by his invitation of several pro-gay-rights and pro-choice Christians to a reception with the pope this week and the fact that he has, according to Huckabee, made it “very difficult for people to practice their Christian faith” in America.

When Newsmax’s Ed Berliner asked Huckabee about his GOP presidential rival Ben Carson’s comment that there should never be a Muslim president, Huckabee responded that “there is no religious test to hold public office in America,” and that he was more concerned about people like the president whose faith lacks “authenticity.”

“I’m less concerned about what faith a person has. I’m more concerned about the authenticity of their faith and how that plays out in their policies,” he said. “I’m also concerned about a guy who believes he’s a Christian and pretends to be and says he is, but then does things that makes it very difficult for people to practice their Christian faith.

“I’m disappointed if a person says, ‘I’m a Christian,’ but you invite the Pope into your home and then you invite a whole bunch of people who are at odds with the Catholic Church policy. I think there’s something very unseemly about that.”

Huckabee is mad at God for letting such a "heathen" as Obama win over "God's right-hand man" Huckabee.

That's a truly misguided core belief. When you profess to be a religious man and you are mad at God for not doing the right thing, the shark has truly been jumped.

Well, if Pres. Obama is pretending to be a Christian, he is sure making Huckleberry look bad by comparison. My philosophy professor always said, "tell me how it acts and I will tell you what it is." Hands down Obama acts more like a Christian than the Huckster by a mile. Going a little further, why are American voters so susceptible to this judging of others. It is no ones business what kind of Christian some one is, or whether he is at all religious. We need to judge people by what they do, not what comes out of their mouths. The condemnation for political gain is an act right there breaks a whole bunch of rules when it comes to being a good person of religion. Good people exalt the other good people in the world. Tearing people down every time one opens his mouth has no honest purpose.

For an elected official, I'm concerned if their faith play plays out in their policies at all. IMHO, a politician should be able to support or justify any policies without ever using the phrases "The <holy book> says...".

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/pope-congress-speech-full-text_5603eb9ae4b08820d91bb060?wyx2yb9

All of us are quite aware of, and deeply worried by, the disturbing social and political situation of the world today. Our world is increasingly a place of violent conflict, hatred and brutal atrocities, committed even in the name of God and of religion. We know that no religion is immune from forms of individual delusion or ideological extremism. This means that we must be especially attentive to every type of fundamentalism, whether religious or of any other kind. A delicate balance is required to combat violence perpetrated in the name of a religion, an ideology or an economic system, while also safeguarding religious freedom, intellectual freedom and individual freedoms. But there is another temptation which we must especially guard against: the simplistic reductionism which sees only good or evil; or, if you will, the righteous and sinners. The contemporary world, with its open wounds which affect so many of our brothers and sisters, demands that we confront every form of polarization which would divide it into these two camps. We know that in the attempt to be freed of the enemy without, we can be tempted to feed the enemy within. To imitate the hatred and violence of tyrants and murderers is the best way to take their place. That is something which you, as a people, reject.

Huckabee thinks that Jesus was not about caring for the poor, welcoming refugees but condemning gays and abortion.
What a huckster. HE is the pretend Christian.

He claims it, but no actions of his even suggest pretending to be a Christian.

republicans have re-defined what it means to be Christian, and the Pope is telling them to stop this crap and BEHAVE LIKE REAL CHRISTIANS. Huckabee thinks bigots like himself and Kim Davis are "real" Christians - it is PATHETIC

Obama is a lot more convincing at being a good, upstanding human being than Huckabee is! I don't even care whether Obama is christian although I believe he is.
