South Norfolk residents concerned about neighbor’s confederate flag with noose

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A neighborhood is concerned about something that was hung from a garage. South Norfolk residents tell 10 On Your Side a neighbor put up a Confederate battle flag, and what appeared to be a noose on the end of it, in his back yard.

Cassie Reamy lives down the street from the home ... “The part that angers me the most is that I have to explain it to my children,” Reamy said ...

10 On Your Side went to ask the homeowner why he raised the flag and attached a noose to it.

“I did it for the hell of it,” the homeowner, Jerry Compton said. “I didn’t mean nothing by it. I just put it up; it looked good to me” ...
