Medicare Part B premiums AND deductibles forecast to increase by 52% in 2016.

The 2015 Medicare Trustees report was released last week with the news that the long-term outlook of Medicare has improved overall.
It has already been reported by several sources that Part B premiums are projected to increase by 52%,

but what hasn't yet been reported is that the same section of the report also projects that
the Part B deductible will also increase by 52%.

This could mean a double-whammy for many seniors who will end up paying a higher premium for their Part B coverage, and also end up paying more out-of-pocket costs in order to meet their deductible.

http://www.streetinsider.com/Press+Releases/Increase+to+Medicare+Part+B+Deductible+Projected+for+2016/10771308.html

If there is no cost of living adjustment to Sec. Sec. checks for 2016, the monthly premium will not increase for most people with incomes below 85,000 a year.
( Monthly premiums vary for different people for a variety of reasons)
But deductibles can increase from 147.00 to 223.00 a year.

Sigh

This only applies to high income seniors and a small group of lower income recepiants. Check out Kathleen Pendar article in the San Francisco Chronicle article from Sept. 2nd. (Sorry, can't link). Happened twice before because of weird provision due to low inflation. Dixiegrrrl, Please Don't try and scare seniors with handpicked facts and not the whole story.

which allow for a short excerpt and a link to the "whole story"
AND
my post specifically stated that most people will not be impacted by increased premiums.

of even more techs, receptionists, nurses, PAs and Drs staring at the computer and talking to you with their backs turned

Oh and yeah ifn they click the wrong little fucking thing, your insurance claim will be denied.

Oh and yeah the person to patient time will be cut even shorter as they have to take care of clicking thru charts longer and longer

They had a sweet young thang popping into each patient cubicle to give everyone a pass-code and information on how to access their own online records.
So I asked her some questions about the computer requirements, and it was real clear that she had only been trained to do the specific function of signing patients up.
Had no idea about how it all fit into a bigger system, and NO idea about patient privacy because she helpfully showed me the page she was entering my info into
and it contained a long list of other patient names.
Oh Hippa, where are thou?

and yep, my doc now carried her laptop and enters everything, staring at the screen while we talk.
I am tempted to paint my face blue and see if she notices.

I would recommend staying out of any medical office for 3-4 months for routine stuff until all the bugs are worked out
