With all the great stories of animals and people being helped/rescued, DU needs to initiate a new topic: Heartfelt Heroics. I believe this is especially timely in an election year.

but I think an option like this would counter the "if it bleeds, it leads" meme. We get enough sickening news every day, I know I'm always heartened by positive events and reports. There are plenty of good people out there doing heroic things, and it's nice to know of them. Creates a balance I believe.
