7. apparently YOU haven't seen the THOUSANDS or so of other threads, in the 10 years that you've

been here, where people openly brag about the high numbers of people that they have on ignore??

Yeah, I speak up every time I see a post like yours, or one that simply says "DUPE" with a link to another thread. NOT EVERYONE sees them, because of these people with their high numbers of posters on ignore. I don't use ignore, or the "trash thread" option, because I don't want to live in an echo chamber. Also, as far as I know, when we went to the jury system they didn't appoint any "Posting Police" to go along with it. NO ONE, except the Admins and hosts, gets to tell anyone else what, when or where to post. Period.

I'm glad the post was here, as it was the first one I saw when I opened DU. In fact, I'm going to K&R it just because of your reply. If you don't like it, please feel free to use the "trash thread" button *and* put me on ignore. Thank you, and have a nice day!

Peace,

Ghost

8. I don't have anybody on ignore and you aren't going to get on it that easily.

9. Well thank you, but you didn't have to do it for me...

It just looked snarky, or rude, to the OP. As a long time member, it *appears* that you read a lot more than you post, but I could be wrong. Maybe you are really busy in real life and don't have much time to get on here. I *read* every day, sometimes for hours on end, but don't always comment, either. If I did, I would have a post count like some others with 50,000, 60,000 and over 100,000 posts.

Sorry if I came across as an asshole, but I just figure that most long-time members *know* about the ones who brag about having a LOT of people on ignore. If memory serves me correctly there were two posters, one bragging about having over 100 people on ignore, the other over 200! I can't imagine living in a bubble like that, not being able to handle opinions that differ from mine and being unwilling to read or debate them. I *know* several people have ME on ignore. Does it bother me?? Not in the least! I certainly don't lose sleep over someone on an anonymous message board, who I have never met and probably never will, ignoring me.

I only speak up like I did because of the fact that we have posters here like that, and not everyone sees a post from one person, but there's a chance that they may see it from a different one.

Again. I apologize if I came across as an asshole, and I genuinely thank you for editing your reply. It shows true character in you.

Peace,

Ghost

10. You pegged me about right. I spend a lot of time on this site daily but generally don't comment

unless I have something relevant to add to the discussion. Funny, you busted me. I don't think I have ever done what I did in that post but I had just finished wading through numerous posts on the subject and was surprised to see yet another one. I was thinking, "jaysus, does anybody even look in LBN before they post breaking news on this site?" I let the circumstances get the best of me.

No apology was necessary, I deserved it. I appreciate you taking the time to be civil. It is something I often find lacking on this site, which is surprising considering we are all supposed to be on the same side.

Cheers!

11. I try my best to be civil with everyone, as it makes it easier to communicate, educate and sometimes

even change some minds and ways of thinking. We aren't going to bring others to our side by being brash, rude and otherwise uncivil.

I agree that we are all on the same side here, with the exception of Primary Season where it can get very ugly, and we ALL need to practice some degree of civility. Of course, I'm no angel and have had more than my share of heated arguments before we went to the jury system, but I have really worked hard on that and changing myself.

I'm glad to get to have this exchange with you, and to get to know you a little bit (as much as someone can actually "know" someone else online without ever meeting), and look forward to seeing you post more.

Cheers back to you, and have a great day!

Peace,

Ghost
