The mother of the stillborn baby allowed Fiorina to keep lying

http://crooksandliars.com/2015/09/center-medical-progress-used-unauthorized

This whole story is sad, and the only person who deserves any anger and ridicule is David Daleiden, for exploiting a mother's tragedy in order to further his cynical, misogynist goals.

Lexi Oliver Fretz posted the story of her son's too-early birth and death shortly after he left the womb. He was at nineteen weeks' gestation and simply too early to survive. It's a sad story and my heart goes out to her.

BUT. There was no abortion, nor was there anyone eagerly waiting to harvest "baby parts," as Fiorina has so emphatically stated. In fact, according to Fretz' story, her children were permitted to visit their deceased brother and hold him before he was buried. Hardly the cold-blooded clinical procedure CMP claims took place.

Fretz is an anti-abortion believer, however. So when she heard that the photo of her deceased child was used in a CMP video, she posted this to Facebook:

clinically detached over the mental trauma of the loss. A way to cope with the delivery procedure of a dead 19 week old.

Once the rabid anti-abortion advocates buy dead baby pictures they'll use them for their own agenda. I guess people can sell pictures of their dead family if they want.

5. But she was pushing the anti-abortion line from the start

I did a little googling yesterday. When she posted the pictures of her children cuddling the stillborn infant, it wasn't just to tug at the heartstrings. She was explicitly saying that it was wrong to allow abortions up to 20 weeks of gestation because this 19-week fetus was already recognizably human.

Having Fiorina grab up the story was just icing on the cake.

but is letting your children hold the dead baby common practice? I just can't imagine. I know Barbara Bush kept her miscarriage in a jar of formaldehyde and showed it to the kids, including GW. I just find that morbid.

8. It's fairly common

It is way more common than people realize. Miscarriage is still a pretty taboo subject in our culture and many people don't talk openly about it. There's a lot of problems with that. Anyway, you don't hear much in the public sphere, but in support groups and the like for those who have suffered pregnancy loss, things such as photos of deceased babies - at various stages of gestation - photos of mothers holding them, family holding them, are not uncommon. Photos are typically done as part of the healing process. No doubt some anti-abortionists use photos for their agenda, whether they obtained them legitimely or not.

With stillborn babies, there are many photography services out there that will take photos for you.

Source - I have suffered a miscarriage and have been heavily active in the pregnancy loss support community for years.

and my condolences for your loss. Yes, I am sure you still feel the loss no matter how much time passed.

Still, for many of us, when we distance ourselves from death - not many people die at home - it is strange.

I remember when Santorum brought his stillborn child home for the children to see, many of us thought it was creepy. But, according to you, it is important and, apparently, comforting, to do this.

It's the kind of thing that might haunt a little kid in their nightmares for years to come.

for Lexi Oliver Fretz: https://www.facebook.com/lexifretz

I've been trying to get this story out because Ms. Fretz is complicit in the lies being told. She explains initially the images of her premature baby were used without her permission however she has since given permission to have them used by The Center for Medical Progress and Carly Fiorina because as she puts it, "the reason is to save the lives of the unborn". So essentially she is allowing the images of her son to be used to further lies, she knows this and is okay with it.

While I'm sorry about her son's untimely birth that resulted in his not being able to live outside the womb, she needs to be publically called on this. She is part of a lie that could bring down a major health organization that helps low income woman.
