It's been raining here for about an hour. Ago nice, soft, steady rain. Just what is needed so it soaks in the ground.
YAY!
Actual puddles in the street!

(78,249 posts)This is rather disconcerting since, as the forecast called for showers after 11 pm tonight, I neglected to bring my rain jacket.

(17,997 posts)Looks like we have a bunch of San Francisco area duers. We have to have a get together!

(78,249 posts)Most recently, we had a farewell party for proud patriot (who moved to Kona to grow coffee!) featuring myself, Hell Hath No Fury, and arcane1, at Tommy's Joynt in The City.
Really? A bunch of liberals in the Bay Area? Who would have thought?
marym625
(17,997 posts)But I'm from Chicago. Liberal heaven.
Very cool! Wish I had been here then

(17,997 posts)Most definitely have to have a Bernie / DU get together here.
You're welcome. I spoke to the sky and asked it to spread out the rain

(38,613 posts)It would be cool if there was a place we could all gather to watch the first debate!
marym625
(17,997 posts)Is anyone hosting one? I can't. Not my house

(38,613 posts)Slate Bar on 16th st.
I was also wondering if a place like Tommy's Joynt would accommodate a group in the back. I've seen sports-watching groups back there.
marym625
(17,997 posts)I have no idea what you are talking about
Maybe we can get something together for the second debate. I suspect everyone already has plans for the first one
arcane1
(38,613 posts)The first one is starting to get here pretty soon, isn't it? I think I might post an OP just in case, and definitely for the 2nd one!
marym625
(17,997 posts)I'll watch for it
Thank you! It's a pleasure to be here

(21,675 posts)enough that the air smells like asphalt. i am loving the cooler temps though!
Brother Buzz
(36,466 posts)That generally guarantees rain.
I had to put on long pants this morning after my early morning bicycle ride, and I'm almost ready to retire the flip-flops for shoes and socks; it's down right chilly!

(5,815 posts)Hooray! I just walked to nab some lunch at work, and a co-worker told me to take an umbrella.
Ha! She thinks I own an umbrella!
I love how it smells right now with the wet fallen leaves. It feels positively Chicago autumnish. *nostalgic sigh*
I love it here but I really miss Chicago!
You're right, it smells wonderful!
Prism
(5,815 posts)People will start building wood fires and then you'll feel like you're around home =)
I sure won't miss below zero temps and wind chills so cold your toes fall off!

(5,815 posts)The first winter I lived here, they apparently had their coldest winter in ages. Regularly dipped down into the 30s. The 30s! But no snow. You'll know winter has hit its peak when people say things like, "Oh! There's snow on Mt. Diablo!"
