"Voodoo Never Dies" by Paul Krugman

Mr Krugman continues to school the GOPers but there is no fixing stupid!

You might think that there was a defensible economic case for the obsession with cutting taxes on the rich. That is, you might think that if you’d spent the past 20 years in a cave (or a conservative think tank). Otherwise, you’d be aware that tax-cut enthusiasts have a remarkable track record: They’ve been wrong about everything, year after year.

Some readers may remember the forecasts of economic doom back in 1993, when Bill Clinton raised the top tax rate. What happened instead was a sustained boom, surpassing the Reagan years by every measure.

so nice as to shower her campaign with millions and millions. If you don't agree, please explain.

We need to change the system to get Clinton and her billionaire friends out of politics.

They don't care if it doesn't work. Consider it was Republican George H.W. Bush who coined the expression, 'voodoo economics' to refer to his competitor Ronald Reagan's trickle-down theories. What matters is that their greed trumps the needs of our society and financing the operations of what the government needs to do to make trains run on time.

And they are not just wrong, they are self-righteously committed to the idea that, to paraphrase the term, "God is an Englishman," what THEY want - as "Masters of the Universe" - is what is best for EVERYONE.

8. Tax cuts work fine. They do exactly what they are supposed to do.

What they are SUPPOSED to do is cripple the economy, so the people who directly benefit the most from the cuts can buy your house on the cheap after you've been evicted from it.

The lie they like to tell about tax cuts "growing" the economy? Yeah, that's bullshit. They know it's bullshit and they don't care. The important thing is to fuck America so they can take it over as cheaply as possible.

And evil people like the GOP need to be voted out of office and replaced with those who believe government is an instrument of good.

11. Taxes on business incentivise reinvestment in business. Simple as that.

As a businessman, when faced with a high tax year, rather than giving my money to the government, I will spend money on stuff for the business. Either way is a win for government and for the economy. High taxes force recirculation of profits. Low taxes allow for easy profit taking. Low taxes remove money from the economy by letting the one percent squirrel away the money without penalty.
