Sent a snail mail letter

to Sen. Warren and asked, no. begged her to see about resurrecting the paper U. S. Bond, in very low to very high denominations.

Gave her the whole spiel, debt to China, Americans would respond, lovely gift for grandchildren and children, a way to save that has no risks for people who can't afford stocks, etc.

Suggested that post office give or/sell bonds because the banks don't want to handle them and bonds are competition for the funds they sell.

I did not mention that interest on savings accounts is nonexistent, and you can't even open one for less than $500, and if you go below that in case of an emergency, they fine you for keeping your money.

I hate banks. They used to be nice places that we borrowed on homes at 6% simple interest and they paid 3 or 4% on savings.

Warren is the only intelligent one in the Senate. Maybe you can all send a letter.

I sent her a small message on her website and got a form a year later about donating, so I sent a small donation. The address on the form is Dem Headquarters, DSCC, POI Box 1849, Merrifield, VA, 22116-09779. There was a survey enclosed which I filled out, plus the letter I wrote to Sen. Warren., and mailed in their self-addressed envelope.

Am hoping somebody reads the letter. I am hopping upset about borrowing from China when celebrities like Colbert, Fallon, Daily show and others, and SNL, could appeal to people to buy bonds, and they would respond.

Send them all in and yes, you can withdraw any amount above $25.00 I believe it is once they have matured. The rest of the bond remains in the TD acct. drawing interest in the meantime. High denomination Treasury bonds become quite irrelevant this way.

However, it would be nice to see the return of paper savings bonds to give as gifts or to children, etc.

& recommend.

At most, they will send get a form email saying they received your communication and are reviewing it. Meanwhile, if you want a flag or some such, call so and so. And then, you never hear back from them, unless it's some huge thing like Obamacare. Then, you'll get a second form email. I am always amazed when I see DUer's post about the more personal or individualized responses they get.

mine was kind of personal. Told her I'd bought bonds for most of the family, but the program ended before I had finished all of them.

The letter I got from the DSCC (Senate Senatorial Campaign Committee) had a survey enclosed asking for all kinds of opinions rating them 1-whatever. It had a form for donating, but I explained that I already sent online.

The letter I enclosed was addressed to Sen. Warren, US Senate, Washington, DC, and it went to the DSCC where they are collecting opinions apparently.

It may go in the trash can, but I'd given up on ever seeing a paper bond before until this survey came, and that spark of hope re-lit and here I go again...

My original note was to Warren's website, and I got the form letter and request because of it. I have faith in her - only...
