Bernie is in Boulder today. Want to guess how many of the local television stations are showing the event? None. Not one. Zero. Even more disgusting because they'd all be there with bells on for Trump.

(10,164 posts)And Bernie is the plutocrats' worst nightmare: a genuinely progressive candidate with an actual chance of being elected. This is only going to get worse...because they know they're fighting for their lives.

Perhaps Bernie could buy coverage. Approach the #2 station in the market and offer to buy $10,000 in ads promoting the event and tell them you expect news coverage.
Of course, I am not sure if a) $10,000 would be enough or b) if Bernie has that kind of money, but it would tend to make the trip a little bit more worthwhile with more media coverage.
Sadly Trump's celebrity status provides him with free coverage. Because if you tell the average person "Trump is gonna be in town." Their response is likely to be "he is?!!!?" But if you tell 100 people that "Kasich is gonna be in town" or "Bernie Sanders is gonna be in town" then probably at least 60% are gonna say "Who?"
Although I cannot seem to find a poll on that. Or at least some polls are showing something like 20% being undecided and it is hard to believe it is that small.

Bernie's @ 23% and speaking to crowds over 25,000.

Not sure what difference crowd size makes. Even in South Dakota, 25,000 is NOT a lot of voters.

(23,272 posts)I was being generous by using PPP's poll which puts him at 4%.
If you really don't think crowd size matters, I have a bridge to sell you.

Look, people cover Trump for one reason--he does NOT give the same speech every time....and unfailingly, he blurts out some rude, nasty, hate-filled comment about some minority group that can be a headline-maker and put eyes on the screen. Let's get real here. People aren't going to cover, LIVE, the same speech, said over and over, to different audiences. They will cover the crowd numbers after the fact, and maybe a few comments from attendees.
Not sure what you want. Where's Hillary today? Why isn't that on the news? Where's O'Malley? No camera following him, either.
The media likes outrage. Trump provides it--he is a freakshow.
