Here's 7:47 minutes of brutal, hilarious truth about America's gun obsession:

There is one argument and one argument alone for having a gun. And this is the argument: "Fuck off. I like guns." It's not the best argument but it's all you've got.

...

Don't give me this other bullshit..."I need it for protection."...You have guns because you like guns. That’s why you go to gun conventions, that’s why you read gun magazines. None of you give a shit about home security. None of you go to home security conventions, none of you read Padlock Monthly.

have attempted violent crime crimes at this business, and been dissuaded. You may have heard of the one in Ft. Myers where 3 drunk, shirtless blowholes came in caused a fight; at one point slugging a patron who DID NOT fight back, hoping things would cool down as the three left, but within seconds one of the thugs rushes back in as a cohort held the door open, and attacked THE SAME customer. The customer finally drew his legal concealed weapon and shot the attacker. He ran out, but died later. The killing was ruled self-defense under Florida law.

I think thugs and punks attack places like Waffle House because of the late night hours and (importantly) it has some some cash in an economy which is going cashless.

Revealed in all this is the stridently extremist tone of the anti-gun "activists" who must rely on smear and insult, and on the outlook's elitist nature, with calls for DU proprietors to ban not only guns, but discussion of them. (Have you noticed how that happens every time GdD becomes Guns Discussion? I think it is because DU has the strongest pro-2A contingent among the other liberal sites. And fighting gun ownership is a losing cause for dems. Costs us votes.

But as a gun owner and CC license holder i am smart enough to say that this is a violent country and other countries we admire like canada, UK, france have a much liwer murder rate.

The idiots who deserve insults are NRA supporters who finance a right wing group with ted nugent on their board and the idiots who think the government will come after their guns. And the idiots who open carry at obama speeches to show off.

There are plenty of gun nuts, just go to a gun show and see them. But there are also many responsible gun owners. Hard to weed out the idiots.

But the NRA constitutes -4% of gun-owners. That's a huge number in terms of an active interest group, but isn't very representative of gun owners. To me the NRA is a weapon antis used against all gun owners, sorta like gay folks being constantly linked to child molestors (speaking of nuteg).

Hard to believe, but this is a different country from the others. I think it can change positively, but it won't be due to some campaign against a thing (Damn! this country DOES have anthing about prohibition). The thing I fear most is our institutions crumbling to such a degree that the only loud, consistent voice will be for corporate authority, and enough coercion to maintain a third world state. It is why I am for Sanders. He could be the last train out.

I wanted to see which politician they had on. I was hoping for Bernie, but thought Trump would be funny too. My wife and I talked at dinner on how we would write different skits for different candidates. It was fun writing imaginary skits for Ben Carson.

Anyway, I was really disappointed. The cold open was stupid. The opening monologue was just plain vulgar. I don't know who the woman hosting was (I'm old) but telling stories comparing how she wipes her butt different when she's having a hookup from when she's not anticipating one and how that's different from how she washes babies' butts is not exactly comedy of the most intelligent sort.

Anyway, no Bernie, no Trump, not even a Ben Carson sighting.

I give the show an F which is a shame because Hillary was an A last week.

People LOVE their guns. It's irrational and stupid, a fetish for an object that is designed with nothing more in mind than to kill.

You see it right here all the time. People claim to favor guns because of an erroneous interpretation of the Constitution, when in fact they just lust after guns.

because dumbshit, neoconfederate rat bastard NRA types are roaming around with their guns, threatening to shoot anyone who looks at them cross-eyed.

You know, a well armed militia. Protecting their own paranoia and racism.

NRA is a collection of angry civil war losers.

Here's back at you, you fuckers. You lost, then. You are still losers.

Just lock yourself in a bunker somewhere with your guns. Don't come out. Ever.

You'll be safe there.

is not a river in Egypt. Critical mass has happened. It's over so get over it. Washington moves slowly and so will changes. There will be more blood soaked NRA rhetoric and innocent death until it does. After the next massacre will come with same the typical responses such as "That's what people were saying after Sandy Hook." I've heard that a dozen times or more. Gunners need a fresh one. That one is getting stale.

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

Pansy is a homophobic slur. Check google - first hit of "Is Pansy a slur" http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=221x170815

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Tue Oct 13, 2015, 01:20 AM, and the Jury voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Context is important. If you are talking about people obsessed with guns to the point of fearing life without one, pansy is a mild word.
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Agree with the alert. Pansy is a homophobic slur and really doesn't belong here. Sorry, have to vote to hide.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: If you have to look it up, its not a slur. You're just straining for something to be upset about.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Hide Skittles? Are you kidding? She'd kick my ass. No way! LTH
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Voting to hide because of broad-brush attack to gun owners. It may also be a homophobic thing, I don't know.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: "Pansy" can be a homophobic slur. That doesn't mean it always is.

Nobody here commits or support massacres. In fact, we believe (supported by evidence) that responsible gun ownership is a deterrent to massacres.

I could argue that the gun controllers who are responsible for the massacres, because, by always screaming ITS TEH GINZZZ, they detract from fresh ideas that could be useful.

Because it shows the depravity, hypocrasy, and moral bankruptcy of those who would try to "protect" us by limiting out freedoms and trampling on our constitutional rights.

In the end, these people have nothing but insults left (and bigoted, anti-gay insults at that). Their arguments have been demolished and they know it.

at some point they will threaten you and cause harm to sustain their addiction.

Of course, NRA should offer free addiction and mental health services to their members.

But that's like asking a crack dealer to do the same.

We all need to stand up and tell the NRA FUCK YOU.

considering gun violence has been cut in half over the past 20 years. There doesn't seem to be that many gun owners threatening and harming others - even more so when you take away suicides and violent drug gangs.
