... Family members say it took years of digging, but they now have proof that their great-grandfather was not a confederate soldier.

This is an African American family from Franklin County who joined the Sons of Confederate Veterans back in 2002. They were approached by members who told them their great-grandfather had served and they could join. Family members even had a confederate grave marker put into place for their great grandfather. But ever since they joined, they tell ABC 13 something just didn't feel right. Now they're removing that grave marker, and replacing it with something they say is more appropriate ...
