Lawdy! Paul Begala is on a Twitter rant about Newt comparing Mittens to Ike:

Paul Begala (@PaulBegala)
5/25/12 7:44 AM
Newt: Romney is like Eisenhower. 'Cuz we all recall Ike making a quarter-billion from screwing working folks. Let's compare & contrast...

5/25/12 7:44 AM
Ike = Saved the world in WW II; Mitt = Saved $10 million for Bain by taking FDIC bailout.

5/25/12 7:45 AM
Ike = Created Interstate Highway System; Mitt = Drove on Interstate Highway with Dog Strapped to Roof.

5/25/12 7:46 AM
Ike = Sent troops to Little Rock to enforce integration; Mitt = Wants to amend Const. to force discrimination.

5/25/12 7:49 AM
Ike = Top Tax Rate of 91%; Mitt = Pays 14%. Wants even more tax cuts for the rich.

5/25/12 7:50 AM
Ike = Described self as "militantly progressive." Mitt = Described self as "severely conservative."

5/25/12 7:52 AM
Ike = Bald. Mitt = Ken Doll hair.

5/25/12 7:58 AM
Ike = Ended Korean War. MItt = Opposed end of Iraq War; opposes end of Afghan War.

5/25/12 8:02 AM
Ike = Balanced 3 budgets; Mitt = would add $3 trillion to debt thru cutting taxes for the rich.

5/25/12 8:08 AM
Ike = After public service bought small farm in Gettysburg; Mitt = After private equity bought 4 mansions; installing elevator for his cars.

I really started with it during the Green uprising in Iran. I followed someone whose handle was @PersianKiwi. I have no idea what happened to this person. I realized that this short form could be vital. Longer messages aren't practical.

Since then I have followed a variety of people and groups. Some I drop because of various reasons. I don't like to follow people who constantly tweet. Cher is great, but there is a lot of her info that isn't interesting to me. I scroll back through tweets of some people to see what's up. Twitter is also great for breaking news, but you have to keep up if it's a fast moving story. Checking more than one source is vital to wade through rumor.

I think Twitter is as good or as bad as you make it. Finding the right mix of people and categories to follow is crucial. I love being able to drop and add sources so easily.

You can reach those from the other side. Like if you respond to a repug and use the right method his followers will also see your remarks. And possibly embarrass the hell out of both. For the most part, the 140 character limit is sufficient. Besides, it is important to keep it short so you don't go over their attention span.

Of course it is ridiculous to say that any one person single-handedly won WWII. But he was an important part of a collective effort to destroy the ambitions of one of the most evil men ever to lead a major military power.

The roughly $10 million forgiveness by the FDIC occurred in 1993, when Romney was chairman and chief executive of Bain & Co.

The company offered the FDIC and its other bank creditors a deal to reduce the debt, all of which accepted. In the case of the FDIC, the agency agreed to take $5.7 million less in cash, out of the original $38 million. In addition, sources said the agency calculate that the loss of interest payments as a result of the restructuring would exceed $4 million.

Upshot? The bailout saved Bain from having to declare bankruptcy – ironic, in light of Romney’s more recent insistence that the federal government should not have helped prevent the big car companies from going into bankruptcy. And speaking of irony, how’s about Romney calling Barack Obama a “crony capitalist” (which, by the way, makes absolutely no sense in relation to NLRB appointments) on the same day that this story reenters the spotlight?

Seems like this would be some pretty heavy campaign ammunition against Rmoney.

Why isn't this being talked about? Well, I know why FOX isn't but this OP was the first I heard of this.
It seem Romney has given enough reasons to be able to counter almost any thing he says, yet I still hear people support him.

Just how do people "forgive" so many of his failures?

Maybe the deal was too convoluted (it was) and there are too many people who would be harmed if it got dredged up again. Or maybe it's just because the mainstream media is just plain pathetic.

I have a feeling though that the Obama campaign will push it if they feel it's needed.
