It's Official: Texas Cuts Off Medicaid Funding to Planned Parenthood

http://abc13.com/1040667/

snip-

Texas announced Monday that it was cutting off Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood clinics following undercover videos featuring discussions about fetal tissue, potentially triggering a federal court fight like one unfolding in neighboring Louisiana.

Planned Parenthood affiliates statewide were told in a letter they were being cut off because they were potentially "liable, directly or by affiliation, for a series of serious Medicaid program violations" highlighted in the videos. The five-page letter from state health officials said the organization was "no longer capable of performing medical services in a professionally competent, safe, legal, and ethical manner."

Planned Parenthood blasted the move in a statement, vowing to "fight back against this outrageous, malicious, political attack in Texas with everything we've got" in order to protect women's access to health care.

-snip

snip-

"In every state where this fraudulent smear campaign has been invoked, Planned Parenthood has fought for our patients to continue getting the high-quality, compassionate health care we provide, and in every state we've won."

Now, I need to pick up the phone and start wisening up my fellow Texas women.

They've also stepped in it pretty big because there's a lot of low income women in this state who heretofore voted R. This takes away their only access to healthcare.

but for the love of gawd - Planned Parenthood does so much. The Texas Taliban is nothing more than pandering to the xhristians who think they should be the only ones who should dictate what a woman should do with her body.

The local news FB page was filled with rage from women of all ages... and was going pretty well save for the uterusless men who felt the need to put the "misguided wimmin" in their place.

Not when Texas is shutting down clinics that aren't even labeled with PP.
