for a) getting Hillary elected as president and
b) proving, once again, just how stupid they can really be

They gave her chances of winning the primary a huge boost, which means they would face her in the general, and she is the only chance the GOP have of winning the White House, maintaining their majorities and preserving this elitist system.

The folks running the panel and asking the questions are so stupid, it is doubtful this was a calculated strategy, but it might as well have been.

they were probably too stupid to realize that's what they were doing, but they have all but said that she is the one they would like to face in the general. so i am sure on some level they are happy because it might have given her a boost.
