Compare and contrast. Yesterday's hearing was much closer to McCarthy than the media is telling us, in my humble opinion.

You know, like the First or Fifth Amendment. I always loved how they denied 5th Amendment rights because "it's not a crime to be a Communist," when the whole purpose of the hearings was to tar Communists (and those suspected, often on hearsay) as criminals.
It also seems to me that an "investigation" targetted at a single individual, which is the case with Benghazi, does not compare with one that was intended to destroy as many people as it could.
That the Benghazi hearings are bogus, silly, and obviously motivated by partisan politics does not make them comparable to the Red Scare.
