Random thoughts on yesterday's riveting show:
I walked into the office and turned on the TV thinking I'd play the hearings in the background. Five minutes later, I was 100 percent sucked in. I said, "I guess I won't be getting any work done today!" before realizing, "Holy shit, this IS my work!" So thanks to all of you for giving me the best job in the world!
I watched until the end. Fox News cut out hours early. That pretty much sums up who won. I didn't stick around to watch the Cubs get swept by the Mets. I stuck around for this.
If anyone says anything about Hillary Clinton's health ...
Gowdy had a shoe-shine guy work on his face between questions. Seriously, a little powder is Going On Television 101. Superficial and stupid, sure, but he visually matched the words coming out of his caucus' mouths.
More at the link.
I am a Bernie supporter, but there is nothing I like better than to watch, an intelligent woman, allowing fools to show they are fools. As a person, I like Hillary, very much and If Bernie is not the nominee I will have no problem voting for her.

(38,427 posts)The GOP..as many have noted, hit themselves on the head with a brick, (a very large brick). And the GOP knows it. and we know it and most observers know it...The GOP is stupid, and showing the world how stupid it is.. (and it is about time]....

(53,235 posts)the podium in Congress for almost nine hours. Granted, he wasn't being assaulted with questions like Hillary, but he was on his feet all that time. He appears to have a grueling schedule with his campaign now, so it looks like our two top Dem candidates are pretty sturdy.

(51,554 posts)Apparently Gowdy had never met Hillary Clinton.

(38,427 posts)He never thought that could happen, cause he and his ilk, think they are so perfect and in with "G-D"
So, a calm, focused person, he thought, could be easily "broken"...and........."destroyed".
Yet, he is the one who is broken. Some sort of lesson there, but I doubt Gowdy will get it. But the asshole at FOX got it, so he shut it off. He didn't want to see the obvious. Hillary's courage, and focus beat out the those that wanted persecute and hurt her. In the end, they persecuted and hurt themselves,...far more than they know...
