A Doctors Without Borders hospital in Saada, Yemen, was hit by multiple airstrikes overnight, the group announced Tuesday morning. The hospital was destroyed but the group has not reported any deaths.
Doctors Without Borders identified the warplanes as belonging to a Saudi Arabian-led coalition, which has been ostensibly targeting the Houthi rebel group in Yemen since March. Of the approximately 5,000 people who have been killed in the civil war between the Houthis and Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadis government, half are civilians, the United Nations estimates.
Hassan Boucenine, head of Doctors Without Borders in Yemen, told The New York Times that the group had supplied the hospital's GPS coordinates to the Saudi coalition six months ago and reconfirmed them on a monthly basis.

(23,946 posts)aside from the already supplied planes and missiles? After all, they are experts in strafing and bombing and killing innocents in well known hospitals.

2/ during wwII no German, French or RED CROSS hospitals were hit by US forces or allied forces (although us airforce is specifically pointed out in many cases as 'causative agents of firestorms'

The Saudi-led Arab campaign aims to undermine the popular Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, an ally of Riyadh, but the civilian death toll has escalated since then, alarming the United Nations and human rights groups.
The Houthis, whose name means "Supporters of God," follow a similar ideology to Lebanon's resistance movement Hezbollah and played a prominent role during the ousting of dictator Ali Abdullah Saleh in 2011. They have since captured several cities, including capital Sanaa.
The Saudi airstrikes have constantly targeted civilians, earlier this month an aircraft hit a wedding ceremony killing at least 30 people and leaving dozens injured and in late September, fighter jets struck another ceremony killing more than 135 people, many of them women and children.
A hospital run by Swiss organization Doctors Without Borders in the northern Yemeni city of Saada was bombed Tuesday in a Saudi-led air strike, wrecking the facility and wounding several people, officials reported.
