So, Jeb. When your dear brother ran for President in 2000

did he spend all his time "doing his job" in Austin?

I have to give it to Rubio. He handled it well. As a matter of fact, back in 2009 I did check the Senate attendance by Obama, Clinton Dodd and Biden. Do not remember why. Obama and Clinton had a poor attendance, Dodd and Biden returned after they dropped from the race. And, of course, no doubt McCain was not present all the time.

The sad reality is that people run for office while still holding another one and the current one suffers.

If people wait until they are done with their current office - the honorable thing to do, really - they lose their "name recognition."

This is what is so bad with California, and other places, term limit. Office holders run for the next position before they are termed out and when they win, they create a chain of special elections all at tax payers expense..
