(63,912 posts)to see them. I feel bad that they can't do it in their own neighborhoods but I consider them neighbors anyway (only a few blocks away).
It's all good.

(1,883 posts)That's why I'm running low. I tend to overgive. I found 6 plastic bugs. They're gonna have to do. Never say die!

(7,869 posts)Eastern time zone here as well (8pm). If we don't have any, this will be the second year in a row. We used to get a decent amount, maybe 20-30......

(1,883 posts)Maybe next year you could volunteer at a community center or something. That's where people have safe gatherings for kids

(87 posts)across the road from a fairly large apartment complex and all I had were my daughter's friends- has been this way for a few years. Our township had trick or treating hours from 4-8pm so I thought we would get a few this year- guess I was wrong.

(20,582 posts)He loves the kids so much. He licked off the first little guy's face-paint but it was ok, his mom is my friend and took him home for more.
But I think they're done.

(1,883 posts)He used to shove passed me to get at the kids. I love my current pup but she hates kids and barks all night.

(20,582 posts)He's a huge dog, but every kid in town knows him and they all give him hugs and kisses. I bathed him today (hates baths, I had to phone for help to get him in and it almost killed me!) just so he'd be nice and clean for them. It's funny how some are just in love with them and others are maybe a bit afraid?

(1,958 posts)There aren't too many children in our development. It's about 7:30 CST and we have nit had a single trick-or-treater. This is a first. I guess the mini Snickers will be consumed in house.

Their flyer suggested having candy on hand for 1000 kids, even with a big rally in the bottom of the 9th we won't get ner that.

(29,149 posts)the first kids showed up at about 1:30. We left for a few hours to take the little one trick or treating, and then blew through the rest of our candy in a little over an hour. Fun times.

(13,496 posts)and the kids went crazy for them!
And rice krispie treats. They were a hit. More so than the sour patch kids and the kit kats and 3 muskateers. (Always my favorites when I was a kid.)
We only stood outside for about 40 minutes (we live in a family friendly neighborhood in brooklyn), as we took our daughter out trick or treating then had a kids/adult party from 7-9. But it was fun. And we had tons of kids. (Because Park Slope, Brooklyn is 2nd to Mumbai with kids per capita! Maybe I"m exaggerating... but not really.)

(13,599 posts)year. I'd forgotten and already had a couple of beers and couldn't drive to go get candy. I was going to just blow it off and hide but realized I had a shitload of change.
I mixed up a bowl of all my pennies and everything and put up a couple decorations on the door. Giving the kids a one hand grab (two for little ones) turned out to be kind of funny. Some figure it out and bury their hand and give it the scoop lift into their bucket!
I always give them their choice now. I pretty generous bunch of little candy bars or a shot at the change grab. I think it works out about even. I never get more than ten kids or so anyway.
