(3,580 posts)I remember in 69 me and my brothers taking the train out to shea and just standing there during the series. We didn't have tickets but we went to the church of shea
I recall when it was being built, and then went to see Sandy!

(24,764 posts)I remember in '69 my sister taping the play by play of the WS on her new cassette player so she can listen to it later.
I also remember in '73 the umpires acting as if they were favoring the A's. I thought my mom would have a heart attack, but she did feel like climbing through the TV and choking the umps.

(82,849 posts)She and gratuitous stepdaughter went to Missouri Star Quilt company at the beginning of October and got me a Central Division Championship t-shirt. I thought that was as far as they were going to get as Game 4 against Houston wore on.
I've been a Royals fan since they got their franchise, and this team is so impressive with their never-say-die attitude. They just don't quit. Up three games to one, I have to like their chances.
