from the current contributors may be a bit much. Also, taking more money out of the economy not such a great idea, either. Raising the cap is the best way to improve Social Security, IMO.

and the last thing Repiubs want to do is demonstrate that government intervention works.

and rich donors will be butthurt about losing a few hundred dollars a year.
