http://www.mediaite.com/tv/fiorina-admits-she-misspoke-in-debate-claim-about-women-losing-jobs-under-obama/lied would be more accurate
Carly Fiorina admitted today she misspoke an one of the claims she made during last weeks debate concerning how many women have lost jobs under President Obama.
During the debate, Fiorina claimed that 92 percent of all jobs lost during the presidents first term belonged to women. Fact-checkers concluded that this was a misleading statistic because it does not factor into the presidents entire first term.
When Martha Raddatz brought that up on ABCs This Week this morning, FIorina admitted that in this particular case, the fact-checkers are correct.
She said she misspoke on that particular fact, but still felt her point stands that women have suffered economically under the leadership of President Obama and Hillary Clinton wouldnt be much better.

Pretty thorough misspeaking, there. CEOs don't belong in public service.

(18,636 posts)...and all republicans use it, that Obama caused mass job losses when he took office. Of course the employment situation was inherited and has vastly improved since.
Our governor, who was elected in 2008, often cites how miserable the Ohio economy was when he came in, then continues to cite the great improvements under his watch, as if democrat Ted Strickland caused unemployment and Kasich turned it around.

(1,779 posts)The "Caucus Room Conspiracy" has led to Republican practices that have continued since the first day of the Obama presidency, with austerity politics, real attempts to hold the country hostage by not agreeing to raising the debt limit, cutting foodstamps and unemployment, etc., etc.
I think generally Obama has done a pretty darned good job, especially when one considers that the Republicans have been unified in their hatred of him. Also, the press has promoted the idea that "both sides are responsible." That is nonsense of the highest order.

(9,350 posts)Carly Fiorina should also be called out on her timeline. She keeps wanting to use President Obama's first term. President Obama has had two terms. If she is going to analysis his time in office she needs to analysis his entire term. Also, Martha Raddatz should have pushed Fiorina on the fact that things got better for women near the end of President Obama's first term. Raddatz should have also pressed Fiorina more on the fact that more women for working at the end of President Obama's first term than when he took office. How can progressive policies be bad for women if more women were working at the end of President Obama's first term than when he first took office? Raddatz should have also forced Fiorina to acknowledge that the main reason there were so many women living in poverty and having other economic issues is that we have been dealing with a recession, which started during President George W. Bush's time in office and that the recession happened as a result of the economic collapse that occurred at the end of President Bush's time in office. It is very likely that women would not be in the position that they are in if it had not been for the policies of President Bush and the economic collapse and recession that occurred as a result.
