Flint Michigan elected its first female mayor, last night

Karen Weaver, a clinical psychologist, defeated Dayne Walling 55% to 43%. Dayne was, unfortunately, pretty much doomed by the disastrous Flint water debacle. It wasn't his decision to make the switch from Detroit supplied water to Flint River water, and he argued against it, but it happened under his tenure and that is what people seem to care about.

I wish Dr. Weaver the best, as she steps into office on November 09.

Sadly, less than 14,000 Flint citizens bothered to vote.
