Krugman: Trump's conspiracy theory that the Fed keeps interest rates low to help Obama is

a widely-held GOP CT.

The Conspiracy Consensus

So, are we supposed to be shocked over Donald Trump claiming that Janet Yellen is keeping rates low to help Obama? Folks, this is a widely held position in the Republican Party; Paul Ryan and John Taylor accused Ben Bernanke years ago of doing something dastardly by preventing the fiscal crisis they insist would and should have happened under Obama. If Trump’s remarks seem startling, it’s only because the press has soft-pedaled the conspiracy theorizing of seemingly respectable Republicans.

From an article at Reuters:

"They are not raising them because Obama has asked them not to raise them," Trump said, echoing similar comments he made in interviews last month. "He wants to get out of office, because we're in a bubble, and when those rates are raised, a lot of bad things are going to happen."

Gee Donald, could the fact that a lot of bad things are going to happen when the rates are raised be at least part of the reason that the Fed is not raising them?

any grandiose statement for a sound bite. And the Stupid Media gives him a Megaphone. We are going to see these zero rates until wages increase and family incomes regain the twenty per cent they lost under the last Republican Rein. Isn't about time for the Frump to do another Bankruptcy?

Because, well, you can guess his 'reasoning'--usual Nader gibberish.
