"according to Carson’s telling, the meeting with Westmoreland was followed by a “full scholarship” to the military academy."

The above is the central claim by Politico. The problem is that they don't explain where "according to Carson’s telling" comes from. They later quote his book, but his book doesn't make the claim.

IOW - before I fall for this, I'd like to know where Carson claimed that he received a "full scholarship".

I've read the politico story and it doesn't add up.

- I've seen no actual admission from the Carson camp that he lied
- the book only makes the claim that he was offered a scholarship - not that he actually applied

IMO - this has all the markings of another dubious "sexual assault" story...
