Ben Carson is now officially a laughing stock.

He's painted himself into such a ridiculous position that the only thing left to see is how bad the ridicule and humiliation will be.

All entirely self-inflicted. How strange. Most people explode from revelation of some scandal or such. This guy felled himself with just his own mouth. Vanity is a hell of a thing.

From Right Wing Watch:

"I interrupted the director," Beck said, "and I looked at the audience and I said, 'Maybe this is me, but is anybody feeling what I'm feeling?' That this man was born at this time — it was with him and his dad — was born at this time and the parallels between Barack Obama and his father, who shaped him and shaped him as a Marxist, and Rafael Cruz, who was a Marxist ... but then he raised this boy up?"

"Is anybody else feeling this?" he continued. "That this guy was truly raised up for this purpose at this time? Everybody in the audience said yes. There is something to Ted Cruz way beyond, and when you get to know his story and his father's story, there is something really unique and special about that story."

So, a new uplifting/uplifted story to replace Carson's? Beck's making a documentary about Cruz. Cruz is very busy at RR gatherings, and another religious leader, a Michael Brown, has just endorsed him.

"...any president who doesn't begin every day on his knees isn't fit to be commander-in-chief of this nation." - The Anointed (aka Ted Cruz)

However, the thing I liked about Herman Cain was that he didn't take himself too seriously (which is probably not a good quality in a presidential candidate).

Fundies are crazy people so they don't care if Carson is crazy, in fact that's an asset since it gives them permission to be as crazy as everybody around them tells them they are. The fundies vote. Oh, my, they vote. Voting to create a fundy theocratic paradise on earth is one of their reasons for continuing to exist. They're backed up by extensive gerrymandering in populated states, so it's getting harder and harder to outvote them.

However, Trump's just a raging asshole egomaniac, and Carson's a kook.

Odd how you suddenly grow nostalgic for the days of "Nine Nine Nine" and "Uz-becki-becki-beckistan", not to mention the wisdom of Pokemon........

I'd honestly thought Trump would have hit the Sarah Palin level of absurdity long before anyone else in the clown car; but thinking about it, Trump doesn't take his run seriously, so I don't think anyone else really does either.

Either way, I hope to see a deliciously wicked HBO movie about this the good Doctor before too long.

and love rudeness in the pursuit of authority. If the had meetings in basement beer halls they'd look much like the old SA.

Trump has really 'trumped' the rest of the field on that. He's the least respectful bully in their field, teaheads are loving that.

Carson is doing well because the religious right in enthralled by his "religion empowered me to over-come " narrative. And there is no doubt that intentionally markets that.

DavidCornDC A reminder: in his latest email solicitation Carson said candidate's faith, honesty & character more important than his political experience

Mike Brice @MikeBrice
@DavidCornDC @wooddems So what happens when a candidate has neither political experience nor honesty - nor an appointment to West Point?

He gets a job storing grain in Egypt.

He started his new political career on a "Obamacare is slavery" note. When asked about the program he showed he knew nothing about any provision in the program. He's always been a political fraud. His job was to be that 1 -5 dentists that says F brushing your teeth eat lots of candy.
