Amscot is urging its customers to stand up for their predatory lending

On Friday I took a co-worker to Amscot to pay back a loan during our lunch break. When we got there he paid his loan and then was asked by the clerk to sign a petition. He called me over to take a look at it. The clerk told us that if we don't sign the petition they would be forced to close down and they wouldn't be able to provide payday loans. Since I couldn't take a picture of the petition (wasn't allowed to) I decided to see if I can find it on-line and boom here it is:



Not too far from where we were a guy was talking to another clerk bad mouthing the government and how they were involved in everything good. I was pretty shocked and told him to haul ass and forget about the petition. When he asked me why he shouldn't sign it I told him that the rates they were charging in Florida were horrible. These people are not only predators, they're a conniving front. I've never seen a company blatantly lie to the very people they are servicing. There's a reason why there's an Amscot almost everywhere you go in Miami.

I was sickened by what I experienced. Thought you guys should know.
