still have a spokesperson job at this station. Is being Mrs. Greenspan that big a deal? I have to turn her off, hope I don't miss anything...

(15,805 posts)The warmongering is just as disgusting as it is on FauxNews. The hyped up, shameless fear mongering is detestable. Obama diplomatic efforts, his every utterance are whipped into imaginary thoughts and fictionalized facts about his presumed guilt for the Paris attacks.
Just like last time, gone are old familiar progressive voices of sanity and reason as MSNBC. The new memos have gone out and the few remaining hosts are wound up like dutiful automatons to parrot the corporate line as MSNBC tries to dress itself up like a disgusting, dimwitted and sleazy clone of FoxNoise.
Now the push for war is on 24/7, and I hear Andrea Mitchell and Brian Williams madly offering up the same Fox-style news of wild, unfounded speculations and conspiracy theories with their best frowny faces tacked in place; feel the fear yet? They might as well bemoan the lack of flag draped caskets, the weeping widows, the dearth of little Made in Chinese plastic flags and the bewildered look of wee orphans available as background props for their faux 'news' reporting.

She does hesitate quite a bit, but that would be fine if she were actually a good reporter otherwise. She just had a London correspondent on who spent a couple of minutes updating us on the status of the search for Salah Abdeslam. As soon as he was done, she asked him, and what about the eighth suspect they're looking for. The correspondent gave a stunned Uhhh, that's who I was just spent the last couple of minutes talking about.

(570 posts)It happens to the best of us, but I really think she just didn't make the connection that Salah Abdeslam was the eighth suspect. (@1:58)
The tape is up on her site: http://www.msnbc.com/andrea-mitchell-reports/watch/several-arrests-made-in-brussels-567702083660
I just rewatched it and Keir Simmons wasn't exactly 'stunned', but there was a pregnant pause and he did remind her that's what he was just talking about.

She has been very good in the past at getting information because she is an upper-tier Insider. My take is that she has been as bad at honest and responsible reporting as any of the others with whom she shares self-serving Insider group-think. Like our politicians, these people like their Washington-insider jobs waaay too much.
