If I am ever carried away in the middle of the night,

I won't be sent to some secret site or sent overseas somewhere.
I am sure I will be sent to Bob Jones University. You don't know 'religion' like they know religion.

I fully believe they only have the Old Testament in their version of the Bible. They have probably even redacted parts of that they consider too lenient.

If I do disappear, my brother will mobilize a motley crew ranging from relatives to miscreants of all kinds. They will be gathering from areas of SC that a GPS won't register. They will also probably be armed with gawd knows what.

If you wonder why they would rescue a communiss like me, they dislike guvment more than they dislike me. In addition, even with my heresy, I am considered one of their own. I was born in that area, and that supercedes all else.

If anyone has a right to relocate me, they consider it their duty and not some outsider's. Their actions are not entirely benevolent. I would rather take my chances with them than with those zealots in their kingdom. BJUers think think that the ladder to heaven is located exclusively on their campus.

If you hear of some kerfuffle at BJU, it might be my rescuers in action. Wish them well!

And I just gotta say, that acronym is just wrong. WRONG, I tell you. There are some things that shouldn't be taught in schools, and that is one of them.

reprogram me and others of my ilk. They think they are in the vanguard of a religious uprising.

As far as that acronym, I am sure that its meaning is waaaay beyond their medieval minds.

They were only 30 miles from my alma mater, and one of their duties was to come over weekly and preach to the heathens. They were easy to spot because they were dressed CONSERVATIVELY, and they had that glazed determination in their eyes.

We had BJU alerts. Some people would lock their doors. Others of us would give them blank pamphlets with our beliefs among other things.

I take it you had a recent encounter. I'm sorry. Can I get you anything? -- a shot of whisky or camomile tea. Something. I really am sorry.

Reading about their doings is enough.
Thank you for your sincere concern, bless your heart. I will find some White Lightning if need be.

They probably did get credit for their missionary work.

program in "Proselytizing, Evangelizing and Missionary Work".

How much do you want to bet there's such an entry in their catalog?

Their bible-thumping in the vicinity is just part of the required practicum work.

Interesting finding; dropping your pants seems to scare them off.

Alaska; where public nudity is a team sport.

I wonder how many of their alumni brag about graduation from good ol' bju. I'm sorry Surya Gayatri, it's just not right! I'm series!

Paris, huh? Lucky you. If you ever come back for a visit, drop me a PM and I'll treat for coffee.

so I do get back from time to time. I'll let you know!

No plans in the immediate future, though, what with the € going down the crapper and all.

If the € Zone breaks apart, everybody in the EU will take a hit. Devaluation and inflation may run rampant.

I have a brother named Mike. While Mike is often a bane to my existence there is one type of situation where he is very useful, the kind that requires brute force and immediate escape. Other difficult situations he is rather useless but this...yeah, right up his alley. I'd be out in under an hour.
