The ‘Refugee’ Picture The Right Is Using To Scare People And Why It’s Complete Bullsh*t (IMAGE)
I do not know where Chris Matthews got his information for images--but Wednesday (don't recall what day exactly) he was raggging on on about healthy males being refugees --I finally shut him off. He just was wild.

When youre building a propaganda campaign like the right has been against Syrian refugees, you need a compelling narrative. When the President came out and basically called right-wingers cowards for being afraid of orphans and widows, the narrative from the right quickly shifted to how Syrian refugees are actually mostly men. They even have pictures to prove it.
This image, displayed as the featured image and inside an article by a righty rag called American Elephants is intended to show that not only are Syrian refugees mostly men, but they are well-dressed, well-rested men who are using the ruse of the refugee crisis to sneak into America to blow stuff up:

The picture, which shows what looks like thousands of people crossing a bridge, was cleverly chosen for the six or seven men leading the pack, who do in fact look perfectly well-nourished and healthy. They also look very male and Middle Eastern, something that to a conservative qualifies you for terrorist status.
Unfortunately, the truth about this picture became obvious with a simple Google search: It was taken in 2013 and depicts Syrian Kurds fleeing into Iraq to escape fighting between Kurdish fighters and jihadists related to the Syrian Civil War. The article, which appeared in The Times, noted that the United Nations had taken notice of the situation.
According to the article, published on 19 August 2013:
Thousands of Syrian Kurds have arrived in Iraq after fleeing violence between Kurdish fighters and jihadists in a spin-off from the countrys civil war.
More than 15,000 refugees, most of them women, children and the elderly, have poured over the border into Iraqs autonomous Kurdish regions and more are expected, says the United Nations.
No, conservatives, those people arent a bunch of terrorists headed for the Mexican border, theyre Kurds heading for the safety of Kurdish-held land in Iraq.................
